Please Note:
Please clear all cafeteria and extended care balances by June 12.   Checks can be mailed to the school office or brought when you pick up your belongings.  Please put checks in a plastic bag clearly marked for the office.

All 2020/21 registration, book fees and admission fees should be paid no later than June 30.


ESSENTIAL INFORMATION  
Materials Exchange Continues Tomorrow & Friday
June 11, 12

 
We have developed our School/Family Material Exchange in line with CDC and ADW regulations. Full details and the procedure may be found HEREPLEASE read this document, and if you have questions, contact Mrs. Williams or Mr. Carr.  We need 100% of our families to participate!

You will return textbooks (NO workbooks), sports uniforms, library books, and chromebooks to school.  At the same time, you may pick up any of your child's belongings which were not brought home in mid-March, and any medication kept in the health room.  Many thanks to Nurse Williams, Mr. Carr, and the Extended Care staff who have collected and bagged all student belongings from the classrooms.  If you have specific questions about what should be returned, please contact your child's homeroom teacher.

  • June 11th     9am-1pm, letters F thru M
  • June 12th   9am-1pm, letters N thru Z
Please notify Nurse Williams (awilliams@maryofnazareth.org) ASAP if you cannot be at school during your assigned time
Notes from the Office
  • Final report cards will be mailed home during the week of June 21.  Please make sure the office has your current home address on file.  All outstanding balances due to the school must be paid before your child's report card will be mailed.  
  • Teachers are in the process of considering appropriate summer work for students.
  • Student-furnished school supply lists for the 2020-2021 school year are posted on the website under "Current Families", "Parent Resources".
  • All information about the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year will be shared with you as soon as decisions are made.  Please continue to monitor your email for communications from the school during the summer.

Yes!  There WILL be a Yearbook this Year!
Yearbooks will be sold on a pre-order/pre-paid basis.  Order online on the website under "Current Families", "Parent Resources".  Yearbooks are $32 each and will be delivered to school around the end of August.  Order deadline is Wednesday, July 1, 2020.  We will not order extras, so don't delay! 
Don't forget to list your child's name(s) and grade(s) in 2020-2021 in the "Additional Comments" box.  Email Mrs. Wray with questions.

MoN Alumni Stepping Up to Help Stock Food Pantry
MoN Alumni Sara, Liam, and Aidan Melley are organizing a porch pickup food-drive for the food pantry Gaithersburg HELP. They are usually responsible for coordinating the volunteers who collect the food from Sunday mass donations at St Rose of Lima and deliver to the pantry. Now the pantry is serving more families with less food. Please see THIS LINK to see how you can help - more dates will be added if these fill.
HSA NEWS 

Open HSA Positions for 2020-2022 Term

The HSA Nominating Committee is STILL looking for candidates for the 3 open HSA Executive Committee Positions.

Treasurer     *     Secretary     *     Second Vice President

These positions are vital to the running of the HSA and all of their events.  If these positions aren't filled, hard decisions about the continuation of such events like all Sports, Kindergarten Graduation and Class Parties will have to be made.  Don't let these things end.  Do your part.

AFTER THE BELL
Beauty and the Beast Collectors' Edition T-Shirts

Unfortunately, the Beauty and the Beast production has been postponed due to the school closure. We had ordered the shirts before the shutdown and so they all say "March 2020" as the performance date. Now the shirts are a collectors item! All cast and crew members that ordered Beauty and the Beast shirts in Feb./Mar. will receive their shirts with their other school belongings at the book/item returns June 10-12. We do have a limited amount of shirts still available to purchase. I have both CREW shirts and regular shirts. All shirts are $20 and please email Jennifer Driscoll with your size request and we can arrange a time/place to exchange the shirt and the payment. Quantities are limited. First come/first served. See photo above.

Sports Committee Elections

The Mary of Nazareth Sports Committee will hold its election of officers during a Zoom meeting open to the public to be held on Wednesday, June 17 at 7 pm. Next year's officers will be elected June 17th.  

There are a number of position which are open for the 2020-2021 school year including Chairman, Secretary on the Executive Committee who serve two year terms, as well as each of the individual sports commissioner positions for Cheer, Soccer, Basketball, 2-K Basketball, Cross Country, Track and Field, and Baseball.  Individual sports commissioner serve one year terms. 

We have had one person express interest in the Chairman position. Our most pressing need is Secretary, Cross Country Commissioner, and 2-K Basketball Commissioner.  However, all of the above mentioned positions on the Sports Commission are up for election. Anyone interested in joining the MoN Sports Committee or anyone interested in attending the June 17th Zoom meeting should email Kevin O'Rourke at Kevjean@verizon.net  by Monday, June 15th.
