 Notes From the Office
  • Don't miss our Kindergarten to 5th grade Luau Dance Party this Friday night.  See flyer HERE.  No need to RSVP - simply buy your tickets at the door! 
  • End of the year report cards, standardized testing results, school calendar, and awards will be sent home to every family during the week of June 24.  Please remember that ALL accounts must be cleared before you will receive any correspondence (hot lunch, extended care, tuition, library, etc.)  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Andrea Murphy.

  • If your child still has a baby bottle from the Lenten collection, please return it to school this week.
  • It's time to order a yearbook!  Please see order form HERE.
  • Our 2nd graders are in the process of receiving their 1st Communions, and as a school we are celebrating their achievement together on May 22nd in the KFC.  Many volunteer spots are still available, please see the link HERE to sign up.
  • Supply lists for the 2019-2020 school year are posted HERE and on the website under "Current Families", "Parent Resources", "School Supplies".
  • The first day of school for students in grades 1-8 for the 2019-2020 school year is Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Kindergarten students' first day will be Wednesday, September 4.  The Open House for all students will be Friday, August 30, 2019.

FACTS Information for 2019-2020
  • K – 8 Book and technology fees and Preschool Admission fees for the 2019-2020 school year will be charged to your current FACTS account in May - either on the 5th or the 20th, depending on your schedule. This applies to all returning students as well as new students whose families have a current FACTS account.  The fee is $235 per student.

It's time to order your school kits for next year! 

Would you rather spend a summer day driving from store to store to purchase school supplies or get everything you need in one easy box? Great news! We are offering a supply kit program at our school this year. Kits include the exact colors, quantities, and brands your teachers have approved for class. Get your back-to-school shopping out of the way early and enjoy a summer day!  Supply lists for the 2019-2020 school year are on the website under "Current Families", "Parent Resources".

Today is International Water Safety Day!

May 15th is International Water Safety Day. International Water Safety Day is designed to help spread global awareness of the ongoing drowning pandemic, and educate the youth in becoming safer in and around water. May 15th is a day to spread drowning awareness and water safety education by any means possible.

Super Hero Themed Field Day 5/29
Field Day is fast approaching!!!  Please mark your calendars for Wednesday May 29th.  Parent volunteers are needed to help culminate our school year with FUN for ALL!  The volunteers will help with running stations.  All games have been predetermined with directions and supplies provided.  Parent/Volunteers should remain at stations throughout rotations ensuring fair play among all students.  The PE department greatly appreciates the support of parents to provide cheering and encouragement to all students.

We will run events simultaneously in the morning and afternoon. 
Example:      Morning Events       8:30am – 11:30am

Our last service project for the school year is a collection drive for deployed military service members through Blue Star Mothers of America ( The following items are being requested:

  • travel size shampoo
  • travel size conditioner
  • travel size lotion
  • travel size toothpaste
  • travel size soap or body wash
  • travel size mouthwash
  • safety pins
  • hard candy (Please do not donate chocolate as it tends to melt.)
  • Ziploc bags (to organize the packages)

Cards, pictures, and notes can also be sent in to be attached to the packages.

We will be collecting items from Monday, May 20 - Friday, May 31 in honor of National Military Appreciation Month. Collection boxes will be in the main lobby by the office.

Volunteer this Spring at MoN!

Spring has Sprung!! It's finally here and it's time for all of our HSA sponsored spring events! 

We have lots of opportunities to volunteer for our K to 5 Beach Dance Party, our Communion Celebration, and finally our Kindergarten Graduation celebration.  

The volunteer time is only a few hours from your day and a wonderful way to give back to our Mary of Nazareth School! Please see the below links to sign up!

Support Mary of Nazareth's Home and School Association:

This program runs all year. Please submit your Box Tops labeled with your child’s homeroom to the front office.
Save the caps and box codes from your Coca-Cola products and points earned may be used to purchase classroom supplies.
Area stores offer reward programs to support the HSA. If you are a frequent shopper at Giant and/or Harris Teeter, be sure to link your shopping cards to their A+ Rewards and Together in Education (TIE) programs respectively.

Help support the HSA without spending any extra cash. The SCRIP program features gift cards to many popular stores, restaurants and retail establishments nationwide. SCRIP cards are used just like cash in stores, and most can be used to purchase from the retailer’s online store. Participating retailers may be viewed here.

Summer Tutoring

If you are considering a summer tutor for you child to help him/her with iXL, the reading project, or to improve the skills that he/she learned this year, these Mary of Nazareth teachers are willing to assist you. The following teachers are experts in the MoN curriculum and the academic expectations and they are available to tutor during the summer months. VACATION BIBLE CAMP - Mother Seton Parish

This year we will be going on an African Safari and learn that LIFE IS WILD~ GOD IS GOOD. We hope you can join us for this fun week of learning about GOD.

Vacation Bible Camp - Our Lady of the Visitation Parish
Blast off "To Mars and Beyond", where kids discover the wonders of God's Universe.  
The Mission runs from June 24-28 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.  
Preschool 3-4 years attend the Mini Galaxy Station (must be potty trained).
Kindergarten through 6th grade students are the Galaxy Voyagers.
Cost is $75.00 per child.  Financial assistance available for OLVP parishioners.
