Soccer is back for all grades at MoN! Please see information under "After the Bell" below.
Host Families are desperately needed! We have over 60 new families joining our MoN family and need host families to pair them with. This is a great opportunity virtually or in person to welcome a new family to our community. Sign up HERE.
The rising 8th grade class is once again sponsoring the "Teacher Tailored Student Supply Kits" as a fundraiser for their class trip. Please see details below. Orders due by 6/25/21, school code 53493. See details below.
Parents are reminded to put your cars in "Park" and TURN OFF THE INGNITION when you arrive to pick up your children. We realize the weather is getting warmer and you would like to run the air conditioning, but this is a safety issue when we have many children walking to their cars through the parking lots. Thank you for your cooperation and for keeping all our students safe.
Effective March 12, 2021, Maryland residents who travel outside of the state are no longer required to quarantine or have a negative COVID test when they return. Maryland residents continue to be encouraged to get tested for COVID-19 upon their return from out-of-state travel.
Please check current, up to date positivity rates by state HERE.
Spirit Day is this Week!
This year Spirit Day activities will be curbed due to Covid 19. On the days we have scheduled for Spirit Day, Thursday, May 13 (Grades Pre-K though 5 - full day of school) and Friday, May 14 (Grades 6 through 8 - noon dismissal), students will be encouraged to demonstrate their Mustang Spirit. This includes:
Face paint, Accessories in School Colors, School Spirit Gear, Hair Dye, Silly costumes, Fun Signs, Decorated Cars, Etc.
All face paint and hair dye must be applied at home. If faces are painted, they must be painted in both school colors, red and black. We will not be competing for the Spirit Sticks in the KFC this year.

Mrs. Carter's Counseling Websites
Mrs. Carter's Counseling Website (for adults)
This is the one started during the spring to help parents navigate health and wellbeing, and online learning challenges during COVID 19. Mrs. Carter's Counseling Website For Kids
I created this one at the request of students who wanted to view my weekly lessons at home. All the lessons are built on the idea that hard work and perseverance makes the brain grow stronger and promote social- emotional wellbeing.

AFTER THE BELL
Soccer Clinic for Pre-K - 2nd gr Begins Sat., May 15 Register NOW
The Mary of Nazareth Sports Committee is offering an 8 session soccer skills program for Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, & 2nd grade students. MoN students, as well as children from member parishes, are welcome to attend.
During the clinic, coaches will work with players on fundamental skills, such as dribbling, running with the ball, moves and control, shooting and teamwork.
This spring’s clinic will be led by a professional coaching team with licenses/certification from the English Football Association, European Union Football Association, and US Soccer.
Players will be grouped by age/ability and will focus on fundamental elements: Technical, Tactical, Social and Physical.
The cost is $130 (8 sessions). Sessions will be Saturdays, at MoN, from 10 am to 11:30 am, starting May 15th. Space is limited, so registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
We will also be offering a clinic this fall. If you have any questions, please reach out to MoN Soccer Commissioner Joe Beucher (email@example.com) or Sports Committee Chair Paul Garrett (firstname.lastname@example.org).
CYO Soccer Assessments and Sports Planning for the Fall
Good news! Fall CYO soccer is looking like a reality and we need to prepare. For our current 2nd through 7th graders, player assessments and team formation must be done by the end of school. We are working on the final details, but we will probably hold assessments the last week of school on our fields - June 8, 9 and 10th (rain date). Look here next week for details and the registration link (Rookie 3/4, JV 5/6 and Varsity 7/8). Most families will need new uniforms as the kids have grown quite a bit since the 2019 season, so we will have a new order link for you to buy gear (Approximately $50). This will be in addition to the CYO registration cost and the uniform should be ordered with a two-year usage in mind.
We need coaches at all levels. If you are interested in coaching in the Fall or helping at the assessments in June, please reach out to Soccer Commissioner Joe Beucher - (email@example.com) All coaches must be cleared through the VIRTUS Child Protection Program.
And lastly, we are recruiting for new Sports Committee members, especially from grades 1-4, to balance out the committee - so please contact Paul Garrett (firstname.lastname@example.org) to get involved in a return to sports.
