Notes From the Office
  • The annual Christmas Concert is tomorrow, Thursday, December 14.  Please see letter from Mr. Friel with arrival time, dress code, and other instructions HERESchool building and KFC doors will open at 6:30 pm.  For those who cannot attend, we will once again live-stream the concert on Facebook. 
  • There is a 2 hour delay on Friday, December 15.  School will open 2 hours late, and before care will open at 9:00 am.  There is NO HOT LUNCH ON FRIDAY.
  • Please take a moment to acquaint yourselves with the Inclement Weather Policy on the website under "Current Families", "Parent Resources" HERE and in the Parent and Student Handbook.  We follow Montgomery County decisions on closings and delays.  Please remember  there is NEVER hot lunch on days when there is a 2 hour delay, and before care will open at 9:00 am on 2 hour delay days.

  • Pastoral Recommendation forms are required annually from all families wishing to qualify for in-diocese tuition rates.  The form for the 2018-2019 school year is due to the office by February 15, 2018.  Why not cross it off your list now?  The form is available HERE or on the website under "Admissions".
  • Show off your family!  We will once again have a gallery of family Christmas cards on the office window.  If you’d like to be included, please send your photo card to the office.
  • Please note:  The first day of school for the 2018-2019 school year will be Wednesday, August 29, 2018.
  • Admissions applications for the 2018-2019 school year are now available on TADS.This is for students new to MoN ONLY - current students will re-register in December.   The Pre-K class is filling fast - please get your applications in NOW!  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Wray in the office.
Pledge your support or donate to the Annual Giving campaign,
Pull Over when you drop-off at AM carpool on Fri 12/15,
Participate by handing your pledge card in to Santa’s helpers at the main entrance.

Our goal this year is simple: 100% participation.
All classes will receive an ice cream party when their homeroom reaches 100% participation. The entire student-body will be awarded SPIRIT WEEK when the entire school reaches 100% participation. Any family donating $50 or more by Friday, December 15 will be entered to receive one (1) waived registration fee for a student enrolled at Mary of Nazareth Catholic School during the 2018-2019 academic year.

Please Note: The school's Annual Giving campaign continues for the duration of the school year, through June 30, 2018. For end-of-year tax purposes, gifts are highly encouraged to be made by Friday, December 15 in advance of Christmas break.

Dear Volunteers,
The breakfast with St. Nick and the HSA committee do not have enough words to THANK YOU each one of you who made this event a beautiful and great success!! All your work, time and dedication was shown in the faces of the 527 people who attended. From the delicious breakfast made with love, the nice crafts that the kids made, the great gifts from the Santa Shop, and the amazing opportunity of having pictures with SANTA and the beautiful decorations around the school. Saturday, December 16th, Wreaths Across America Ceremony
On Saturday, December 16th, from 11:00 AM to approximately 2:00 PM MofN's Cub Scout Pack 076 has been invited to participate in a Wreaths Across America Ceremony to lay wreaths on the graves of the approximately 70 veterans who lay there in eternal rest. The Cub Scouts wish to extend this invitation to the rest of the MoN community as well. The location will be the Darnestown Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 15120 Turkey Foot Road, Darnestown, MD 20878. The actual wreath laying shall occur from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Phil Ishikawa at
Mary of Nazareth School announces auditions for Seussical Jr. —our first spring musical in many years!  Auditions for will be held December 18 and 19 at 4:00pm in the Art Room.  Students only need to come one of those days. Students interested in technical crew only do not need to come to auditions.  Open to grades 5-8. Rehearsals start after Christmas break. 

To help us manage the auditions, we request students to sign up for one of the two dates through the signup genius link HERE
We ask parents to wait outside the audition room or return at 6:00 pm to pick up their students.

Show Dates: March 23 & 24, 2018, and possibly March 25, 2018.

There will be many opportunities for students offstage, too, such as set design and construction, props, running crew, costumes, makeup, and more!   Parent volunteers are also needed to help lead in several technical areas.  If you can help or have questions, please contact the Director, Roxanne Stone, at  or (301) 641-8360.

Restaurant Afternoon
Please join us for lunch at the Kentland’s Chic Fil A after our noon dismissal on Wednesday, December 20th between noon and 3pm. Chic Fil A will donate 15% of your transaction to the Mary of Nazareth HSA. Be sure to show the FLYER or tell them you are there to support Mary of Nazareth to be sure we get credit for your order. Thank you for your support!
2nd Annual MoN International Family Night

Come celebrate the diversity and cultural heritage of our school community. It’s a feast for the eyes, a journey around the world. All families are invited to attend. Cost is $20 per family (fee waived for country participants and volunteers). Sign-up information coming after the Christmas break!

Mother Seton's "Parenting for Purity and Love or Lust?" By Jason Evert

Attention Montgomery County Friends, we are excited to welcome Jason Evert at Mother Seton Parish in Germantown, MD on Monday, December 18, 2017. He will give two talks:

6:00p.m. Parenting for Purity, Parents Only, teens can come to our Parish Center for pizza during Parenting for Purity talk.
7:30p.m. Love or Lust? (7-12 graders)
