Notes from the Office
  • Yearbooks are due to be delivered to school tomorrow and will be sent home either tomorrow or Friday.  If your child is not at school, you may pick up the yearbook at your convenience from the box in the foyer.  All yearbooks will be marked with your child's name and will be in alphabetical order. 
  • We have a few additional yearbooks available for purchase.  Please send a check for $32 to Mrs. Wray in the office.  
  • The last day of school is Friday, June 10.  Mass will be at Our Lady of the Visitation at 10:00 a.m.  Students will walk from the school building to the church beginning at about 9:40.  We will block off the driveway at the church parking lot while the students are walking to the church and back to the school after mass.  We will begin dismissal immediately after we return from Mass and you must pick up your child from the carpool line.  There is no aftercare on the last day of school.  
  • All students must wear a DRESS UNIFORM to school for Mass on Friday, June 10.
  • As the end of the year approaches, please remember to pick up your children’s medication from Nurse Phillips.  Please note ALL medications must be picked up by an adult, not the student.  Any medications left at school with be destroyed.
  • We have an overflow in the Lost and Found.  Please take a moment to stop by and check to see if any of your child’s clothing is there.  ALL LOST AND FOUND ARTICLES WILL BE DONATED TO CHARITY ON Friday, June 10.
  • End of the year report cards, standardized testing results, school calendar, and awards will be sent home to every family by the end of June.  Please remember that ALL accounts (extended care, tuition, library, etc.) must be cleared before you will receive any documents from the school (this includes transcripts for students who are not returning).  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Andrea Murphy at
  • Summer Work for all grades will be posted on the website HERE or under "Current Families", "Parent Resources", "Summer Work" by the beginning of next week.  
  • Supply lists for the 2022-2023 school year are posted HERE and on the website under "Current Families", "Parent Resources", "School Supplies".  The rising 8th grade is sponsoring a supply kit fundraiser for the 2022-2023 school year.  See details below.
  • To all who have made purchases on behalf of the HSA, please submit your receipts along with a Disbursement of Funds Request form and send to the front office to the attention of the HSA Treasurer. We appreciate all who have volunteered this year!.
  • COVID Positivity Rates as of 6/9/22:  Students - .62%, Staff - 0%
  • Please review the Parent/Student Reunification Process HERE.
  • The first day of school in grades 1-8 for the 2022-2023 school year will be TUESDAY, SEPT. 6.

STREAM Supplies Needed 
In preparation of “reopening” our STREAM Lab for the 2022-2023 school year, we need some building tools. Please look around your house, cabinets, and old toy chests for any of the following items!
  • Legos
  • Lincoln Logs
  • Magnetic Blocks
  • Construction Building STEAM kits
  • Electric Circuit Kits
  • Wooden building Blocks
  • Science/Math Board Games
  • STEAM Tube Locks
  • Mini Puzzle Blocks
  • Brain flakes
  • Pattern Blocks
  • Playing Cards
  • Old CD’s
  • Toilet Paper Rolls, string, paper plates, craft sticks, straws, etc.
  • Dominoes
  • Golf Balls
Please drop off any of these items to the STREAM Lab before the end of the school year, May 31-June 10th.

MoN Field Day Thank You

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this year's Field Days a great success.  We couldn't do it without you.

They're back!  Once again this year we will be offering the Teacher Tailored supply kit program which offers pre-packaged, school supply kits filled with the exact supplies requested by your child’s teacher.  (see 2022-2023 supply lists by grade HERE.)  Why fight the hassle of retail when our kits are a cost-effective and convenient way of purchasing your back-to-school supplies?  This is being offered by the incoming 8th grade class as a fundraiser for their class trip, and is completely optional.

The HSA would like to thank all the amazing volunteers who helped organize our fabulous spring events!

Thank you to May Crowning chairperson Michelle Powell.  Thank you to all the volunteers who organized, set up, decorated the KFC  and MPR, donated flowers and desserts, and arranged a beautiful luncheon for our 8th Grade families to celebrate our Blessed Mother.

Thank you to Communion Celebration Chairperson Kristen Washburn and the third grade families for organizing and hosting our 2nd Grade Communion Celebration.  Our 2nd Grade celebrated a beautiful Mass at Our Lady of the Visitation Church followed by a wonderful luncheon in the KFC with beautiful decorations, home-made desserts from the 3rd Grade families, and gifts for all our 2nd Graders.

Congratulations to our newly- graduated 8th grade class!  And thank you to the 7th grade families, led by Lisa Goldberg, Jennifer Stonesifer, Jeanette Wilson, Sujithra Jayaraj, and Julie O’Brien, for organizing and hosting a fabulous event in the MPR following graduation. What a wonderful send off for our 8th Grade!

Last but not least, Congratulations to our Kindergarten Class who graduated today! Thank you to our Kindergarten Graduation Chairperson, Jessica Freer, our Kindergarten teachers, and the First Grade Families for preparing a terrific celebration for our Kindergarten families!

The Home and School Association is looking for event 
chairs to help plan several events next year:

Back to School Carnival
Christmas Bingo
Grandparents Day (co-chair)
Father Daughter Dance
Communion Celebration (current 2nd-grade parent)
Kindergarten Graduation (current Kindergarten parent)
K-5 Spring Dance (co-chair)
8th Grade Graduation (current 6th-grade parent)

You do not need to have experience or even have attended these events in the past. Volunteers will work with a member of the HSA Executive Board to help with these events.

Too Early for Christmas?  Never!!
We are looking for 2-3 creative volunteers who are passionate about Christmas to chair the annual "Sleigh Ride with St. Nick" event.  Christmas is always a wonderful time at MoN - it's when our community gets together to build relationships and celebrate the season.  Don't worry!  You won't be alone.  The former chairs of the event will guide you every step of the way.

It’s time to register for Fall CYO Soccer! 

For rising 2nd - 8th grades:

•  Registration is now open. Please use the link HERE 
•  Soccer assessments and team formation will begin the week of August 22nd. More info will be provided during the Summer.   

Initial Registration Deadline: June 10th. Please register early!

For rising K - 1st grades:

• This Fall will mark the return of the K-1 soccer league.
• This is a parent-coached league and a great opportunity to get to know MoN families.
• Registration will occur after school begins. All games and practices will be held on Saturday mornings at MoN.

Returning this fall, Mary of Nazareth Cross Country!

We’ve opened up an interest form for anyone looking for more information about the upcoming cross country season. This way you can be the first to know when registration opens plus a few tips on getting ready for the year ahead.  

We plan to hold practices twice a week immediately following school, on the school fields. Competing in the meets on Sundays will be encouraged but we are welcoming of all paces and abilities.

Summer at Holy Cross

The Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington, MD offers a variety of summer options for students including the HSTP Prep course for rising 7th-8th grade students (co-ed), a Summer Stock program and performance of Disney's Frozen, and Summer Sports camps in lacrosse and softball.
