Notes from the Office
  • Please see the schedule above for all virtual back to school nights. Your child's teacher is responsible for emailing the Zoom links to you for these meetings.
  • Please fill out the EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION form which is kept on file in the office.   We require one for each family.  This is the information we use to contact parents in the event of an illness or emergency, and also what we take in the event of an evacuation.  Please note that we will not release your child to anyone who is not listed as an emergency contact on the form.  Please complete this form and send it into the office or email it to Mrs. Wray no later than Tuesday, September 22.  This form must be typed.
  • If you haven't already send the following forms to the office, please take a moment to print, sign, and send them in to us.  MoN Protocol Parent Acknowledgement Form and Academic Honesty in Distance Learning (Student)
  • It's not too late to order milk for students in grades K-8.  The form is on the website under "Current Families", "Parent Resources".  All orders are placed and paid online this year.  Please make sure to add your child(ren)'s grade and choice of flavor (white or chocolate) to the "Additional Comments" box.   Kindergarten students may only order white milk.  Milk is not available to Pre-K students this year.
  • We have a few extra 2019-2020 yearbooks available for purchase.  Yearbooks will be sold on a first come, first served basis.  Please send a check for $32 to the main office.  If we run out of yearbooks, your check will be returned to you.
  • The Archdiocese of Washington will determine whether the school should be closed due to weather.  The decision will be communicated to media outlets and principals to get the message out via text and social media.  Local radio and TV stations will carry school closing or delayed opening announcements.
  • In the unlikely event of an emergency, crisis, natural disaster, or evacuation we will use the guidelines HERE to reunite parents/guardians and students.  Note that anyone whom you designate to pick up your child MUST be listed on your office emergency form.
Request from Mrs. Kowansky, 7th grade Science
In the seventh grade science class, the students are learning about scientific instruments and bioreactors.  We are able to make a simple bioreactor with yeast, water, and sugar. However, we do not have the capability to make our own eudiometer which measures the amount of gas produced from the bioreactor. We are hoping a fellow parent/scientist could demonstrate this instrument for us. Please volunteer to be our Zoom Guest Speaker in 7th grade. During the zoom meeting, you will explain and demonstrate how this instrument (eudiometer) works.  Please contact me at if you are able to help our students.  Thank you.

We are looking for a few volunteers to help with our weekly newsletter.  Please email Joy Dyer, if you're interested.
HSA and CAF Dues
HSA and CAF fees have gone virtual!  No need for checks this year!! Please see the link HERE and select grade level AND HSA
The Home & School Association (HSA) fee is collected at the beginning of the school year.  These funds go toward the enrichment the experience of the children, families and Staff of MoN school and build and foster a sense of community. While many of our usual activities are fluid this year, we are working diligently to "reimagine" many of our activities and support our teachers and staff during these unprecedented times.
The Class Activity Fee (CAF) is collected at the beginning of the school year. These funds collected determine the individual Class Budgets. Any leftover funds from the class  budget will be rolled into the 8thgrade trip funds. The Class Activity Fee should cover all craft, snacks/drinks, service projects  and special event supplies for the school year, as well as the class Benefit  Auction donation.
Spirit Shop
Our Spirit Shop is up and running this year from an off site location.  We have new "MoN goes the Distance" shirts available and MoN masks will be arriving soon! Thank you for your support!  See link to Spirit Shop HERE.
Catholic Business Network of Montgomery County celebrates volunteers and business partners at their Annual Gala in November. Mary of Nazareth School is allowed a nominee from our community for each category. We are asking for your help in determining our representatives. Please note that the nominations are based on the 2019-2020 school year and are not necessarily cumulative. Please complete the nomination form HERE and return by Friday, September 25th. The selection committee will be using your input to make the final decision by early October.
