Go Green - Recycle Your Old Crayons and Markers!

We are excited to tell you about two very special programs to keep our earth clean.  Please consider recycling all your old crayons and markers at home and those that you’ll be receiving back from school at the end of this year.  We will be collecting them in boxes in front of the office.  More information about what happens with the recycled materials is below!

All crayons will be donated to The Crayon Initiative. The donated crayons will then be recycled and distributed to art programs at children’s hospitals across the U.S. by The Crayon Initiative.

Markers will be sent to Crayola in support of their program called Crayola ColorCycle – an amazing new program devised to turn used markers into energy! The markers will be sent to a facility where they will be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more! Please help support our efforts by sending your kids in with any used markers you may have around the house – even non-Crayola brands. Drop-off boxes will be located around the school for your child to deposit the markers.

Thank you in advance for participating!
