Jenna Feeney, Class of 2011, started writing music when she was only in kindergartener at Mary of Nazareth. Now a sophomore at The College of Charleston, Jenna recalls that many of her earliest memories as an artist involve singing in the MON Choir and Glee Club. She sang anywhere, anytime. In 2013, two years after graduating from MON, Jenna decided to start a YouTube channel to take a small step forward in sharing her talents. Eager to pursue music, Jenna ran out and got a guitar, and within a week, posted a video of her playing an original song.
As she journeyed through high school, Jenna continued writing lyrics. For Jenna, composing songs was a way to create poetry through music. Her songs reflect personal experiences confronting conflict, heartbreak, confusion, and happiness. Jenna started performing whenever she had the chance. That fall, Jenna was contacted via YouTube by a talent scout, and teamed up with producers, Shannon McArthur and Adam B Smith, in Nashville, Tennessee to record four songs.
When in Nashville, the artist recorded her first professional cluster of songs, which turned into her debut EP, "Truth". Each of the songs tells a different story and is written with deep emotion and honesty. Her recent release, "Beautiful Mess," climbed to #1 on the Reverberation Local Charts in October. Following her release party at Rocklands Farm (Poolesville, MD) last June, Jenna performed at The Freeman Stage and Cactus Cafe in Fenwick Island, DE and Skipper's Pier in Deale, MD until heading back to school for the fall and spring semesters.
